Overview
An internal operations platform concept that consolidates staff records, task tracking and approval workflows into a single system, replacing a mix of spreadsheets and email threads.
Problem
As organizations grow past a certain size, operational tracking spread across spreadsheets and email becomes slow, error-prone and difficult to audit.
Objectives
- Consolidate operational records into one system
- Provide clear ownership and status for every task or request

- Give managers visibility into team-level operational status
Solution
A modular operations platform with a configurable workflow engine, role-based dashboards and a shared record system for staff, tasks and approvals.

Architecture
A Next.js application backed by a PostgreSQL data model of records, workflows and roles, with a workflow engine that evaluates configurable approval rules per record type.
Challenges
Building a workflow engine flexible enough to support different approval chains per department without requiring a code change for every new process.
